UNDOUBTEDLY a dream collaboration for many, Jagwar Ma’s resident beatmaker Jono Ma has brought his ingenuity to ‘Sunday Mourning’, one of the standout tracks from Night Beats’ enveloping psychedelic masterwork ‘Who Sold My Generation?’
Venturing far from the terrain in which the track was birthed but maintaining the headiness and trippy atmospherics of the original, Jono Ma twists and contorts the track’s core elements into brave new directions.
A hypnotic take on the track that centers on deft percussion work, engrossing synths, loops and the vocals of enigmatic frontman Lee Blackwell, it’s a wonderful addition to Jono Ma’s innovative and at times mind-boggling repertoire of remix work.
