AS we patiently await the emergence of another full body of work from Arcade Fire, it seems abundantly clear that their chameleonic nature is once again at play.

Having steadily progressed from swelling alt-rock to Americana and disco, it appears to be the latter of these directions that have became the prevailing force behind the band’s material. Hot on the heels of the destigmatising sounds of ‘Creature Comfort’, the Canadian/American outfit are back with the phenomenal ‘Signs Of Life.’

Led by the sort of undeterred handclaps that you don’t often unironically find this side of disco’s heyday, their latest offering is a fully fledged dance track that manages to somehow touch upon the tedium of searching for something tangible to grasp in an increasingly unjust world and how rock music’s long-held image of ‘cool’ refuses to subside to this day. Sonically aligned with artists such as LCD Soundsystem and The Juan Maclean teamed with a sprinkling of Sandanista era Clash and yet unmistakably Arcade Fire in its biting social commentary and consumate musicianship, the album can’t come soon enough.

their upcoming record Everything Now is set to be released on the 28th July.
