WITH his debut album Faces and Places on the way, Glasgow singer-songwriter Mark W. Georgsson has shared a new track and video by the name of ‘Oh My Dear Friend’.

Following on from his beautifully delicate debut single ‘Ballad of a Nearly Man’, this latest offering is more upbeat; its glorious harmonies, heartwarming lyrics and buoyant rhythms underpinned by the presence of an organ. Running in at just under two minutes in length, the track exudes a wonderful warmth and charm that is impossible not to love; becoming almost Dylan-esque in style with its country-tinged folk melodies.

The accompanying video sees a sequence of phone clips brought together to document Georgsson’s time spent at the Iceland Airwaves festival last month; effectively fitting in with the uplifting nature of the track.

Faces and Places is due for release on 27th January 2017 through Last Night From Glasgow. Produced by Rod Jones of Idlewild, it features a number of Georggson’s friends and fellow musicians and brings together folk, country, americana and nordic influences to create a unique collection of songs that shows both depth and maturity. The album launch night will be held at the Hug and Pint on 19th January as part of Glasgow’s world-renowned Celtic Connections festival.
