INTRODUCING No Windows: a new duo from Edinburgh comprised of 16 year old multi-instrumentalist Morgan Morris and 18 year old vocalist Verity Slange.

Formed after meeting at school, the pair have an entirely DIY approach, recording, performing and producing their material from the comfort of Morgan’s bedroom.

And after generating some interest off the back of a few demos, and putting in a memorable display at Connect Festival last month, the pair have announced details of their debut EP ‘Fishboy’, set for release on November 25th via tastemaker label Something.

‘Shout (Red Song)’ is a striking indicator of what’s to come. Deftly crafted, the instrumentation swirls with distortion as they merge the sounds of intensely disorientating shoegaze with hazy dream pop. A potent combination, Verity’s bittersweet vocals pull through the ocean of noise, adding an intimate quality to the intense backdrop. Shrouded in ambiguity and a sense of elusiveness, it’s a fleeting glimpse of what’s to come – but there’s no denying the rare chemistry and talent on display.

Morgan says “Shout (Red Song) felt loud, thrashy and noisy – which to me felt most like the colour red. Red reminds me of things that are intense like anger or love which, and while neither of those things are explored directly, they feel present as an undercurrent in the melody and sonic set-up of the final recording.”
