THE indisputable leaders of today’s modern psychedelic revival, Australia’s Tame Impala are one of the most vitally important bands within modern music. Preparing to release their third record this year, band visionary and leading figure Kevin Parker took it upon himself to share the amazing ‘Disciples’ during a Reddit AMA.
Managing to combine elements from debut Innerspeaker and the universally lauded Lonerism in equal measure, ‘Disciples’ exhibits the band at their most exquisite; combining the sound of their late 60’s focused guitar lines along with celestial bursts of synth. With Parker pushing his vocal range to its apex with a remarkably high falsetto upon its chorus, the track is laced with the kind of eccentricity that makes them such a special proposition.
